Eurail reveals Australia’s latest travel trends

Eurail, which simplifies rail travel through 28 European countries with flexible rail passes, has revealed Australia’s latest travel trends

Eurail has just revealed Australia’s latest travel trends, with social media influence, gap year holidays, and chosen means of travel being the main factors for where people travel.

Eurail, which simplifies rail travel through 28 European countries with its series of flexible rail passes, received this information through a survey of 1000 Australians.

The results confirm that travel envy is the major deciding factor of holiday choices, with 47 per cent of Australians likely to gain inspiration from their friends and 44 per cent of millennials from seeing stunning travel pictures on social media.

Additionally, the gap year has made a comeback, but is no longer just for ‘schoolies’, with 83 per cent of those surveyed saying they would take a gap year to relax away from their high-paced lifestyle.

The most popular type of gap year, according to 46 per cent of those surveyed, would be to leisurely explore Europe’s gorgeous cities.

As many as 68 per cent said that their holiday could be ruined by airline misdemeanours, such as baggage loss or flight delays, while 39 per cent expressed that rigid travel itineraries negatively impact their holiday.

“With many travellers worried that delayed flights and lost luggage could sour their travel experience, we’re proud to offer a reliable and flexible choice for Australians to explore Europe in the most unique, and relaxed way,” says Eurail market manager Clarissa Mattos.

The news of these travel trends comes as Eurail celebrates what has been a huge year for the European travel pass, with exciting new product developments set for 2018.
