Norwegian Cruise Line reveals Norwegian Bliss at 2017 Virtuoso Travel Week
Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed its latest ship, Norwegian Bliss at the 2017 Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas, Nevada this week.
Set to sail to Alaska and the Caribbean, with select voyages to the Mexican Riviera, from June 2018, Norwegian Bliss will boast many firsts at sea, offering guests the freedom and flexibility to create their ideal experience at sea.
She will offer a wide variety of accommodation options including luxurious suites in The Haven by Norwegian, Studio staterooms for solo travellers with virtual ocean views, and new connecting staterooms ideal for large groups and families travelling together.
“Norwegian Bliss will no doubt be our most incredible ship to date,” Norwegian Cruise Line president and chief executive officer Andy Stuart says.
“We have elevated Norwegian Bliss’s on board experience to new heights, bringing the best features from across our fleet plus exciting new first-at-sea activities like the largest race track and new dining concepts to create the ultimate cruising experience.”
Norwegian Bliss will boost excitement around every corner with activities spanning the entirety of the ship’s top deck, including the largest race track at sea where guests will be able to get competitive and race at a two level electric-car race track, reaching up to 48 kilometres per hour.
While the electric cars run silent so as to not disturb others, guests will have the full racing experience thanks to the sounds of a race car engine coming in through speakers located in the car’s headrest.
There is also an open-air laser tag course, themed as an abandoned space station.
The ship’s Aqua park includes two multi-storey water slides, and an expansive pool and sundeck featuring two spacious pools and six infinity hot tubs that scale the side of the ship. The tandem Aqua Racer slide allows guests to race side-by-side on inner tubes for more than 110 metres, with a translucent section that provides stunning ocean views, while the Kids’ Aqua Park, offers junior cruisers a watery wonderland of splash pads, water cannons, tipping buckets and slides.
For little ones aged six months to three years old, Norwegian Bliss offers the fleet’s largest Guppies playroom, where Early Years Coordinators will host sensory-play activities for parents and babies, while Splash Academy offers age-appropriate supervised activities for children aged three to 12 with fun and energetic programming.
The exclusive teen space features plush lounge furniture, gaming stations, foosball, air hockey and a dance-floor with neon lighting, as the space transitions to the hottest teen nightclub at sea in the evening hours.
Foodies and cocktail connoisseurs can indulge to their heart’s content with a breadth of dining and bar options, including signature Norwegian favourites, as well as exclusive new concepts that will debut aboard the ship throughout complimentary dining venues with rotating menus as well as in signature à la carte restaurants.
The ship’s Mandara Spa will offer a range of pampering experiences with 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon and barber shop, a fitness centre and thermal suite.
In addition to the luxurious spa, adults will be able to unwind in two private lounge spaces while cruising aboard Norwegian Bliss at Vibe Beach Club and Spice H2O.
In the evenings, live entertainment, deck parties and an expansive casino area will take nightlife on board to the next level.
The ship’s itinerary will feature calls in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, British Columbia, along with scenic glacier cruising. She will sail her inaugural Northern Hemisphere Winter season beginning in November 2018, sailing seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises from Port Miami, featuring calls in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Nassau, Bahamas.
