Taste of Sydney, 9 – 12 March
Back again for another weekend of foodie fun, Taste of Sydney has kicked off in full swing, featuring some of Sydney’s best restaurants, celebrity chefs, artisanal produce and fine Australian wines.
Held on the lush green at Sydney’s Centennial Park, the four-day event is on now, until Sunday 12 March.
Featuring an incredible line up of renowned chefs and restaurants such as Porteno, Nel, Long Chim and Banksii to name just a few, the event is the ultimate foodie paradise, with plenty of new flavours and dishes to discover and experience.
A variety of activities and special events will take place, such as cooking masterclasses, wine tastings at the Orange Wine Region Showcase as well as at The Wine Society, interesting discussions at the Table Talks series, a refreshing cider bar, a live music hub, and plenty more.
A highlight and absolute must-do is the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence, which will see Alumni chefs from the ultimate national hospitality industry awards program showcase their incredible skills and talents in a dynamic cook-off.
Held in the Electrolux Taste Theatre on Saturday 11 March, Josh Niland of Saint Peter, Richard Ousby of Stokehouse and Lyndey Milan will take part in the cook-offs for the first time ever, and be judged by members of the audience.
Moreover, four lucky members of the audience will find a golden air ticket under their chair, meaning they will take on the role of either a Golden Judge who can critique the chefs on technique, creativity and expertise, or a Golden Sous Chef who can assist with the preparation of each dish in the hope of accompanying the chefs to victory.
The awards aim to uncover young culinary talent across Australia including Young Chef, Young Waiter and Young Restaurateur of the year, with the program itself known as having an unparalleled record of discovering Australia’s best new talent.
