Melbourne set to be spooked
Melbourne is set to host its first ever Halloween festival this October and the program is absolutely terrifying. Running from Friday, October 19 to Sunday, October, 28, Hauntville will serve up a host of tasty treats, chilling performers, games, entertainment and two very spooky haunted houses.
Burnley Circus Park will host the first-of-its-kind festival that promises a spooktacular time. Beware those with coulrophobia as Cirque Du Slay Haunted House will be crawling with clowns and other dark creatures. Yarra River Coffin works is no better with spiders, rats, snakes and the screams of the undead infesting the musty halls. The house tells the story of an abandoned coffin works which was discovered within the Burnley Cirus site.
The Halloween carnival promises a host of creepy carnival games, from Angry Crows and killer kissing booths to a zombie head ring toss. A haunted graveyard will play host to some spine-tingling tales while attendees can also take scary selfies at the Hauntville photobooth. There will be a daily prize drawn for the best dressed. Families are encouraged to take a peek between 4pm-6pm before the festival becomes strictly adults only. Make time for the special Twisted Circus tour of the Cirque Du Slay Haunted House.
Bubbling cauldrons will quench the dry-mouth horrors with Spooky Sangria and Pumpkin Ale. For those still with an appetite, The Haunted Food Festival will feature food trucks such as Poke Time, Loaded Gourmet Hot Dogs, Bavarian Bangers and 196 Below.
